A mortgage loan originator is a key professional in the home financing process. They help clients navigate the mortgage application process. They work closely with borrowers, real estate agents, and lenders to negotiate the best terms while meeting all regulatory and compliance requirements. They build trust with clients and help them achieve their homeownership goals. 

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be licensed by the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) and Nationwide Mortgage Licensing Platform (NMLS). If not, contact us, and we’ll help you get your license!
  • Must be familiar with the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and Truth In Lending Act (TILA) requirements;
  • Must possess strong mathematical skills and be highly proficient in accounting to ensure accurate financial analysis.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service abilities, effective communication skills, and negotiation skills to build strong client relationships.
  • Should have comprehensive knowledge of loan processing procedures, ensuring smooth and compliant transactions.
  • Must be teachable, trainable, coachable, and collaborative.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Originate and process mortgage loans for clients throughout the entire process.
  • Analyze applicants' financial status, credit history, and property evaluations.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions directly with borrowers.
  • Utilize loan origination software like Calyx Point to streamline the loan process.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) guidelines and Truth In Lending Act (TILA) requirements.
  • Collaborate with real estate agents, escrow officers, and title companies to coordinate smooth transactions and facilitate timely closings.
  • Review loan agreements and closing documents with clients.
  • Assist in resolving any issues or delays during the loan approval or closing process.
  • Promote mortgage services through strategic networking, referral partnerships, and participation in community events to build a robust client base and enhance visibility.
  • Commit to ongoing education and certification to maintain licenses and certifications.

Compensation and Benefits:
